A staged opposition of forms

The goal of this project was to create a clearly marked opposition between the two halves that make up the screen. This opposition is then reinforced by projecting the animation onto a surface folded at a central angle. The idea is to confront two visual languages: on one side, an angular, rectilinear world, and on the other, a world built from curves.

Experimenting with stop motion

This project also carries a significant experimental dimension built around stop motion. The technique involves photographing an object many times over, shifting its position slightly between each shot to create the illusion of movement. The resulting sequences were then composited to fit coherently within the animation's overall aesthetic.

A dialogue between 3D and stop motion

As the project is split between two distinct worlds, one built in stop motion, the other in 3D, the 3D animations were designed to create correspondences with the stop-motion sequences, through match cuts and match moves. This also works the other way around.

L∞VE
